Virginia Woolf was right: every woman needs a room of her own. This is
mine. What you'll find here will be links to what interests me, a few rants now and then,
and some of my poems and other writing. This site is, as some have noted,
"text-rich." What do you expect from a person whose business it is to work with
the written word?
A little about me
Obviously, I'm a feminist and a left-winger. Check out the webrings I'm
part of if you want to (a) visit like-minded sites or (b) become enraged. And you'll want
to visit my Women/Feminism page, as well as Politics/Society. My Rants give
vent to my frustrated political ideals.
I have a few preoccupations, to wit: books, writing,
cooking, frogs, and Xena.
I'm also interested in the theories of Carl Jung. According to the Myers-Briggs test,
I'm an ENFP. That's "extraverted, intuitive, feeling, perceiving," for those of
you who aren't familiar with the personality types based on Jung's theory. My husband, on the other hand, is an
INTJ--"introverted, intuitive, thinking, judging." You can probably gather from
this that our thirty-year marriage has had some interesting moments. You can find out more
about personality types at the Personality
Type Test web site.
I believe that dreams give us insight into ourselves, and that the unconscious can also
be tapped by such things as Tarot readings and creative endeavors. I don't regard myself
as New Age, although I may sound like a New Ager to you. I'm interested in Jung's theory
of the archetypes and in his ideas about the unconscious. To find out more about Carl
Jung, go to the Jung Web. You'll
find lots of links there.
